Tom, Mirjam and Snuf are heading out to do research and discovers the way ''Vliegende Volckert'' manages to escape every time.

Tom and Mirjam want to save Captain Brandenburg and are about to leave to search him. Once they reach the island in the river, someone has damaged their float and makes it impossible for them to return to home.

The war has ended and Mirjam & Tom have holidays. They will be heading out with Snuf and find a wounded gamekeeper. The guy tells him that he is being attacked by 'Vliegende Volckert'
