The Strain
As the fourth and final season begins, nine months have passed. The world has fallen into darkness, and the strigoi are in control. The explosion at the end of season three triggered a global nuclear apocalypse. The resulting nuclear winter liberated the strigoi, allowing them to move about during daytime, and allowing the Master to establish a totalitarian regime. Preying on the fears of the populace, the Master and his minions have created an unsettling alliance in "The Partnership." The majority of humans are now working for the strigoi, operating with a single understanding -- collaborate or die. With the world in disarray and our heroes disbanded, each of them will have to overcome personal hardship and defy death for even the smallest chance at fighting back... All the while, the Master reigns supreme, furthering his scheme for the end of the world as we know it. In the face of annihilation...do our heroes have what it takes to save humankind?
The team is forced to retreat, and Quinlan and Vasily come up with a plan to use the nuke to destroy the Master once and for all.
The team threatens Selah to get leverage against Desai. Meanwhile, Eph tries to determine if Zack is working for the Master or not, while Gus goes to recover the nuke.
Before he has Quinlan kill him, Abraham tells the others how to defeat the Master. They begin by assaulting the Partnership facility and capturing Desai. Meanwhile, the Master sends Zack on a special mission.
Eph reunites with Abraham and Dutch, bringing Alex along with him. His health failing, Setrakian ignores Eph's warnings, pushing himself to the limit in his quest for victory and revenge. Fet and Quinlan race back to Manhattan. Meanwhile, Gus decides to help the resistance, but Creem goes to the Master with valuable information. Later, the Master seals off the city and prepares to eliminate them all.
Roman takes the others to meet with an old friend who can provide them with a plane and get the warhead to New York. Meanwhile, Zack learns a painful lesson about love.
While Vasiliy and Quinlan acquire the nuclear pit from the strigoi convoy, Eph and Alex head for New Horizons to discover it's secret. Meanwhile, Dutch leads a rebellion and finds Abraham, while in the past, Quinlan finds a moment of happiness.
Desai forces Dutch to help him calm down a woman undergoing C-section. Meanwhile, the underground takes a heavy blow and Eph and Alex learn of New Horizons.
While Vasiliy and Quinlan try to obtain a nuclear warhead, Eph leads a strike against the strigoi in Philadelphia... alerting the Master and Eichhorst to his presence. Meanwhile, Zack makes a new friend.
The fates of Gus and Dutch are revealed, while Eph continues to help Alex and her brother.
Nine months after the warhead detonated in New York, the strigoi have formed a "partnership" with the humans, offering free medical care in return for blood donations. As season three begins, New York City is a battleground. Written off by the federal government, the people of New York City must fight for survival on their own. The question is who will win? Humans or strigoi? Our heroes win victories, but are not winning the war. Beset by personal conflicts – betrayal, disappointment, paranoia – our group is splintering… Meanwhile, the Master is close to executing an irreversible transformation of the world. The virus has reached epidemic levels in season two as the Master seeks revenge. Eph and Dr. Nora Martinez work on a weapon to destroy the creatures, while Abraham Setrakian searches for a book that may hold the secrets to ending the infected.
A plane lands at John F. Kennedy International Airport with lights off and doors sealed. Epidemiologist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and his team are sent to investigate. On board they find two hundred corpses and four survivors. The situation deteriorates when the bodies begin disappearing from morgues. Goodweather and a small group of helpers find themselves battling to protect not only their own loved ones, but the entire city, from an ancient threat to humanity.
