Tim and Fuzz are in Northern Ireland to take on one of the most challenging cars they have ever encountered: a 1959 MGA Roadster that has been rusting in a damp barn for almost 40 years. The car belongs to former engineer Billy, whose life was turned upside down several years ago when his son and daughter-in-law were drowned on their honeymoon in South Africa. The team manage to bring the car back from the brink after the show's biggest salvage operation to date, and the boys enlist the help of actor James Nesbitt as a special guest when the time comes to present Billy with his newly restored vehicle.
Making motoring dreams come true for a fifth season, Car S.O.S is back.
This time it's bigger and better than ever with everyone's favourite petrol heads Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw continuing their mission to seek out classic cars with deserving owners.
Using all their guile and restoration knowledge their aim is to sneak away clapped out classics without their owners' knowledge and then, in a blizzard of grease, grime and graft, get the much loved motors back on the road.
This season the guys take on a rust-covered 1971 Fiat Dino whose restoration was put on hold following its owner's cancer diagnosis. Among the cars also hoping to be restored to their former glory is a classic Mercedes-Benz and a Jaguar Mk. 2. Can they even get the Jag's engine to start after nearly two decades of neglect?
In amongst the chaos, Tim and Fuzz also find some time to test out a Ferrari racing engine and a motor considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world.
