Everyone is searching for Hein and Charlie, but they seem to have vanished. The team decides to use Maaike to arrest Nekke. If that fails, all seems lost. But then a witness comes forward.
While Stan and Dries are hunting Egbert Nekke, Esther and Noucha are confronted with an old case of Esther's. The case of a young mother brutally raped and abused in her own home by her ex-boyfriend is coming to court. But the old statements from the young mother and her ex-boyfriend don't seem to add up. It's up to Esther and Noucha to find out what really happened before the trial ends. While Stan and Dries haven't gotten any closer to Egbert, Hein receives a visit from Frits Nekke that evening.
During the unveiling of a famous, recently restored masterpiece, the restorer collapses. He turns out to have been poisoned. Was the controversial restoration fatal? The question soon arises whether the restorer was the intended victim. A second murder leads detectives into the world of "haute finance" that made the restoration possible.
Detectives are confronted with the director of a charity who has died in an accident. It quickly becomes clear that the director was murdered and that his lifestyle was less respectable than he claimed. A thorough investigation reveals that the director was not particularly careful with finances. Hein Berg focuses on Frits Nekke's criminal twin brother.

Is it someone who harbors a grudge against the municipality, or is it a confused person living in his own reality? Only when the team unravels the shooter's modus operandi can they set a trap. Hein Berg arranges a meeting with the young infiltrator Charlie in a special way.
A failed ATM bombing by two young criminals leads to a gang war in Rotterdam's Turkish underworld, resulting in the deaths of the leaders of two rival gangs. The investigation in the Turkish community proves difficult, but the dead men turn out to have more in common than initially assumed. Hein Berg has taken over the files of public prosecutor Kiki Ruijters and has to deal with Charlie, a young policewoman who has infiltrated a youth gang. The gang is also involved in stalking Saskia, Stan's girlfriend.
To his own surprise, Stan is having an extramarital affair with the beautiful Saskia. When she is threatened, she calls on him for help, putting him in a difficult situation. Newcomer Noucha discovers that a shipment of explosives has been stolen during a bankruptcy. That is dangerous enough, but then there is also a report that a dangerous jihadist has gone into hiding in Rotterdam. While one team is pursuing the jihadist, Noucha is uneasy about the tips that led to this hunt.
A drug deal is disrupted by the police raid, but in the confusion, one of the criminals manages to escape. During his flight, a shootout ensues, resulting in one victim. The man manages to enter a consulate, leading to a diplomatic incident. The detectives do everything they can to apprehend the criminal.
The death of Ben Slachter and his betrayal of his colleagues has left deep scars on the team. One of the detectives has requested a transfer and must be replaced. A young public prosecutor reports to Hein Berg with a money laundering case. Shortly afterwards, she is found murdered. In addition, the team has to deal with a group of loitering youths involved in drug trafficking.
