Richard Steen, an old acquaintance of Wolfs, comes to Maastricht for help. His informant turns out to be in hiding in Maastricht, while two hitmen are hunting him. Will Wolfs and Eva succeed in finding the informant before the criminals kill him? Things aren't going well with Tara, but Marion is forced to leave her alone when Romeo needs her help. He is afraid that Joël will do something thoughtless to his violent father. Wolfs is in for a surprise.
Sylvia De Beaujean, a member of a well-known Maastricht family, is found murdered in her home. The safe has been plundered and expensive art is missing. Zitman is put under pressure to solve the case quickly. At first, suspicion falls on the heiress, her personal assistant who was the only one who knew the alarm codes. But when it turns out that several footprints have been found, things seem different. Romeo and Marion assist with an eviction. The resident turns out to be a sovereign and receives help from supporters. Marion takes on the care of Tara.
When diamonds are found in the B&B of a murdered owner, the case seems to be connected to an earlier robbery of a diamond dealer in Maastricht. It seems that the robbers received help from the inside. When it turns out that the B&B was paid for with the credit card of an employee of the diamond dealer, the case seems to be solved quickly. Romeo and Marion are faced with a report of dating fraud. A fictitious person has swindled the victim out of thousands of euros.
A murdered private detective leads Wolfs and Eva to a case in which a father has kidnapped his children. The mother is desperate because the children need medication and has called in the private detective. According to her, her ex does not accept the divorce and wants to take revenge through the children. Romeo and Marion are confronted with a recently released drug dealer who terrorizes his new neighborhood.
A popular teacher dies in a stabbing at a school. A witness reports that the perpetrator seemed to be calling the teacher to account. When it turns out that the teacher is also a foster parent, the investigation initially focuses on that. When a second death occurs shortly afterwards, a youth care worker, all the alarm bells go off. Romeo and Marion are confronted with a neighbor dispute in which an old woman is seriously threatened. Wolfs finally goes to a doctor for his tremors.
While Wolfs is worried about Eva who is in the hospital with appendicitis, Zitman expects him at the office to assist Marion with the investigation into the death of an old friend. Romeo has to deal with a man who would cause a nuisance.
A walker catches a man burying a dead woman. The man runs away. The woman's body has been thoroughly cleaned and cannot be identified. Marion and Romeo have to update their administration, according to the pressured Zitman. Fortunately, they are asked to help Wolfs and Eva search for a girl who may have seen the perpetrator. That puts them on the trail of a loverboy. Nico has made a weighty decision.
When it turns out that a girl has deliberately driven off the road on her scooter, Wolfs and Eva investigate the circumstances. It soon becomes clear that she has become the innocent victim of a drug dispute. Wolfs and Eva track down the perpetrators, but they blame each other. Romeo and Marion are warned by a school that they have found a machete in a locker. The locker belongs to Joël, a boy who witnessed a fatal stabbing. Joël's home situation is also not safe. Nico wants to treat Wolfs and Eva to a home-cooked meal.
During a rehearsal of Maastreechter Staar, a choir member is poisoned. When it turns out that the poison was in a chocolate egg that was served during the coffee break, it is up to Eva and Wolfs to find out what is going on. It soon becomes clear that the entire choir is being threatened on their social media. Romeo and Marion investigate a number of burglaries in an expensive neighborhood. Remarkably, none of these burglaries set off an alarm. And things are not going well for Nico.

Romeo and Marion are involved in a shoplifting by a 13 year old girl. There is a whole world behind that theft. Romeo meets Caesar, an old criminal who does his best to keep young people out of crime through his boxing school.
Floris Wolfs recovers in hospital and has to answer for Lucky Ben's death. Eva van Dongen goes after her escaped cousin Ellis. Who has disappeared to Belgium but is still out for revenge. Marion takes care of Tara and hears about drug-dealing healthcare workers. Romeo and Marion investigate and discover that criminals are operating in healthcare. Zitman gets further investigated and Eva makes a rigorous decision.
